Happy World Wide Card Making Day!!!

WOOHOO! I LOVE today!!
I'm going to be spending a big part of the day making cards!!
Let's Partay!!!
Most of the Unity and Ippity Design team members are hosting challenges today on our blogs.  Be sure to check out the Unity blog to see who's playing....believe me you are going to want to play along!
Here's what's up for grabs!

Each UNITY member will have an itty bitty up for grabs-   {ippity} is giving away ippity.
you have until 10/16 to upload.
We will announce the winners on the 10/21 hop.
They can double up challenges, but will only win once-
a thread  in our Splitcoast forum will be started and list our winners
players can use EITHER line (unity/ippity) for the challenges.
For those who play along with ALL challenges INDIVIDUALLY-  will be entered to win a
GRAND PRIZE of
Kit Of the Month FREE FOR A YEAR!
(wowee! what a prize!)

Now on to my challenge.  One thing I love to do on almost every card I make is to distress the edges.  Whether I ink a little or a lot I still always ink.  even if you just run an  ink pad along the edges of the paper it gives depth and texture to your papers.
Here are some hints for distressing:
1.  how you hold your paper makes a big difference
2.  Hold the paper stiffly for even edges, less distressing
3.  holding the paper looser in your fingers allows for more ink to spread into the edges
4.  Ranger Old Paper gives a light subtle inking if you are just learning, or prefer a less distress look
5.  you can layer colors when you use Ranger Distress inks because they stay wet a little longer.
6.  you can never have enough Ranger Old Paper ink pads :)

For my cards today, I made the same card distressing one with Old Paper and one with Walnut ink, to show you the different looks inks can give your card.  I used Samantha Walkers Fall Family Memories
and my new Tim Holtz Paper Rosette Die.  LOVE this thing!  I know we can all fold our own, but I'm using a rosette on lots of Christmas goodies so this way they will all be the same and FAST plus the folds are so small that the rosette is not too big :) love it!

Thanks for stopping by and hope your WCMD is fantastic!!!
